Skin and subcutaneous tissue defects as a consequence of injuries or tumor resection may be reconstructed by various plastic-reconstructive procedures: Z-plasty, local flaps, or skin grafts. Depending on the size and site of the injury, these procedures may be performed under local or general anesthesia.
