Core needle biopsy
Breast surgery
Core needle biopsy (CNB) is a diagnostic procedure performed under local infiltration anesthesia by means of a special device. It is indicated in the case of palpable breast tumors and serves to obtain material for histological analysis. In view of the fact that the diagnosing accuracy of cytological analysis (cytological puncture) is 85-90%, CNB represents a diagnostic method of significantly higher reliability to provide an accurate histological diagnosis of breast lesions.
