Tendon disorders
Hand surgery
Tendon and tendon sheath disorders comprise tendon inflammation (tendinitis or tendosynovitis), constrictive conditions such as stenosing tendovaginitis (De Quervain disease, trigger finger, etc.), rheumatoid tendon disorders, and tendon and tendon sheath tumors. Acute inflammatory disorders are managed conservatively, whereas the treatment of choice in the other cases is surgery. The necessary surgical procedures are performed under nerve-block anesthesia or axillary block under tourniquet and with the use of surgical loupes.
